Places to visit
Jimmy Seas A short distance south of the trailhead in Green Bay (Porlier and Adams)
you’ll find Jimmy Seas Pub and Grill. This trail-friendly bar and grill has a large indoor bar
and dining area as well as an excellent outdoor waterfront deck and a boat dock.
St Michael’s Pub For the more adventurous, continue south from Jimmy Seas about a
block and after crossing busy Riverside Dr. you’ll locate a little local gem in St. Michael’s
Pub. The building may be dilapidated but this is an authentic and rustic local hangout.
Mike, the owner, might seem a little crusty at first but he’s really a nice guy.
Zesty’s Frozen Custard Near the Allouez – De Pere border on Riverside Dr. you can get
your ice cream fix on at Zesty’s. This is a popular seasonal business just east of the trail.
Nearby businesses include a mini-mart, Dairy Queen, hardware store and bike shop.
Voyageur Park De Pere’s Voyageur Park lies between the trail and Fox River. It has
several paths winding through gently rolling hills. Besides being a popular fishing area,
the park is host to numerous events throughout the summer. An extension of the park is
the De Pere Riverwalk which includes a viewing pier extending far out into the Fox River.
It’s a great place to see the water rushing over the dam and get close to native wildlife
including, at times, large groups of pelicans.
St. Norbert College Just south of the De Pere bridge on the opposite river bank is St.
Norbert College. This small, private college is known for academic excellence and radical
hospitality. Walking around the campus’ expansive grounds is well worth the short trip
across the bridge.
